Travelling without a car
The organiser strongly recommends not driving because parking is very limited. From Veddel S-Bahn station, Wilhelmsburger Platz / Hafen exit, the published walking distance is approximately 1.2 kilometres; visitors should follow the signs. Spectators are also allowed onto the event site. Travel and visitor information
Three road closure periods
For 3 October, the organiser lists:
- 8:40–10:45 am,
- 11:40 am–1:45 pm and
- 2:40–4:45 pm.
The roads named are Veddeler Damm, Ellerholzbrücke, westbound Roßdamm and Köhlbrandbrücke. These are planned closure periods, not a guarantee that roads will reopen to the exact minute. All times are local Hamburg time. Closures and diversions
Port railway restrictions are separate: the HPA announces the closure of three level crossings at Veddeler Damm and Am Windhukkai from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm. This longer period does not mean that the roads are closed throughout the day. Port businesses should consult the separate railway notices. HPA port railway traffic notices
Check race-entry transfer deadlines
According to the organiser, regular entries sold out in January. An official entry exchange is available, but this does not guarantee that places remain. The participant information gives 28 September as the deadline for the regular transfer process. After that, the organiser only permits transfers at race-pack collection on 1 and 2 October.
